Building An Online Business From Scratch

By Jason Courie

Ninety five percent of all internet marketers fail when trying to build an online business. There is so much hype and so much deception on the internet today that it is very confusing for people who want to start an online business to even know where to begin and who to trust. Most people spend countless hours and thousands of dollars and never see their very first sale. I used to be one of those people. I started out with my online journey about two years ago. I tried everything I could and could not make anything happen. There are so many so called gurus that tell you to buy there products and you will be a millionaire in six months. I am here to tell you from experience that it does not work that way. Building an online business is not hard if you know what you are doing but it does take time. The good news is, it does not have to cost a fortune to be successful if you have the right tools and someone you can trust guiding you through the process from start to finish. Too many people try to re-invent the wheel and take it from me, it is much easier to follow in the steps of someone that has done it before so that you do not have to make the same mistakes that they did. This will also save you a tremendous amount of time and money and no more guess work.

After months of research, testing and trying different techniques, software, safe-lists, e-books, downloads and a number of other business building tools including hours of audios and videos from the so called "gurus", I finally came across a very inexpensive piece of software called "view it and do it". This software is a simple step by step tool that has an animated professor that breaks down all of the steps to building an online business, shows you what to do and then walks you through how to do it. Even an absolute beginner with no computer skills at all can build a successful online business with this tool.

I just popped this software in and this animated professor guided me through each step one by one starting with finding the right niche. I was taught in a matter of minutes how to research the different products and businesses I was interested in and find out what has the highest demand and how much competition I would have from other businesses in my niche. This is key because if you try to market the wrong kind of product you are wasting time and money no matter how nice your web site looks and how hard you try to market it.

After I had the right business and products picked out this professor showed me how to build my own web site. I have never built a web site before and had no html skills. This was a lot easier than I thought. If you can point and click, type and paste then you can build a site. There is no complicated html programming involved. I had my site up and running in two days.

Once I had my site up and running, this professor showed me how to drive targeted traffic to my site with search engine optimization, swapping links to my site with other related businesses in my niche, and finally, writing articles about my products and services by submitting them to e-zine hubs and publishers. All of this combined creates lots of activity and incoming links for search engine crawlers to pick up which in turn gets me a higher ranking on the search engines. This also allows me to show my expertise in my niche and builds trust with my subscribers so they are more likely to buy my products and services.

The most important thing you can have with an online business is a good subscriber list so that you can keep your customers informed of new products and promotions. If they do not trust in you they will not subscribe to your list or buy anything from you. Writing articles shows that you are knowledgeable to your subscribers and builds up trust. One of the best ways to build a good subscriber list is to give away something free like an e-book or monthly newsletter. If they see value in your information they are more likely to buy from you.

Being successful on the internet does not have to be hard. Take it from me though, it is a heck of a lot easier to follow in the foot steps of someone that has done it before and learn from their mistakes. Building an online business can be fun and easy unless you make it hard on yourself by trying to figure out everything on your own. Do yourself a favor and give yourself a fighting chance to make your dreams come true. Let the professor guide you through your journey successfully and you will be glad you did.
