Age Defying Masks

By Dhananjay kumar singh

From times immemorial men and women have been fascinated by youth. So fascinated, that they wanted to stay young forever. However they knew (or to the extent of our knowledge) that they could not stop growing old. And so the hunt started off for finding things that will make them look younger and brighter. Soon they realized that skin shows the first symptoms of growing old. And if they can stop or delay that process, they can defy their age.

Though history tells many stories about such hunts and medicines, today we find many products that promise to keep you looking young. And a few also manage to keep their promise of defying age. How do they do that?

The answer ofcourse is that certain ingredients are mixed in these products. These help skin look younger. Oh what a great answer! But what are those products and how do they help the skin.

Let us look at some of the ingredients that are used in age-defying masks.

Collagen:

Collagen is a fibrous sclera protein in bone, cartilage and tendon. It can also be found in other connective tissues. On boiling collagen yields gelatin. Collagen is reacted with water to decompose. Taking off the impurities, pure collage is then used in the products.

When applied on the skin, collagen penetrates deep into the skin. It predominantly provides the necessary fiber for the skin to stay intact. This fiber adds the density to the wrinkles and lines. In simpler terms, collagen helps remove wrinkles. Collagen also works as a moisturizer.

DMAE:

DMAE is a short name for di-methyl-amino ethanol. It occurs naturally, and simulates the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, which is an important component in cell membrane.

Studies have shown that DMAE reduces age-related decline in cognitive ability and memory. Therefore it is also used a smart drug. However DMAE's effect in relation to skin is not well researched, but its relation is very hyped. DMAE does cause the skin to tighten. On the whole, the effect of DMAE on skin is quite noticeable.

Plant Placenta:

Placenta can be found both in animals and plants. In animals, especially mammals, this grows during pregnancy. It is a thick membrane that lines the uterus wall and helps the food exchange from the mother to the growing fetus. In plants placenta is a part of the ovary of a flowering plant, where the ovules form here.

This means that placenta is predominantly a female part whose main job is to help growth.

Plant placenta is taken from the flowers and is used in age-defying masks. It revitalizes skin, simulates cell regeneration and provides immediate and lasting moisture to the skin. Plant placenta provides the perfect motherly care to skin. No wonder it helps keep the skin baby soft.

Soya Bean oil:

It is a known fact that Soya bean contains protein. The age-defying masks also generally contain Soya Bean oil, which helps in providing protein to the skin.

Hemp:

Hemp is an Asian plant that produces fiber. It is mainly used to make cordage. It is not popularly used in popular age-defying masks.

Chyrsanthellum Indicum:

Chrysanthellum indicum is a plant-based extract, which contains a unique combination of phenylpropenoic acids, flavonoids and saponosids. This combination is actually rare, and probably this is the reason why it is helpful in medicine. It rejuvenates skin texture, giving it a clear complection.

Conclusion:

The ingredients listed above are not the only components used in age defying products nor are all of them used together. Some of them are used in useful proportions so that the skin grows smoother and defies age.

We are just at the beginning of making age defying products, and one has to realize that not all the products provide effective results. But how do you know if a product is worth buying without trying it?

Well look out for the ingredients list of the product, and if you find at least two of the components listed in this article, that product is sure to help you
