Weight Loss Programs

By Lee Dobbins

Losing weight is hard work and keeping it off is even harder. We need to be truly committed to attain that long term goal of keeping excess weight off. There needs to a change in lifestyle – what we eat, how we eat, and activity levels.

With the ever increasing obese population there is an increase in the products available to fight obesity. They are weight loss drugs or weight loss diet pills, chemicals that decrease appetite (appetite suppressants) –these are prescribed and non prescribed drugs available and number of weight loss programs which include herbal or natural drugs combined with exercise, no-carb, and no-fat diets to help reduce weight. There is a huge market of these weight loss programs, weight loss pills, weight loss supplements.

There are several types of weight loss supplements like:
Thermogenic Fat burners
Stimulant Free Fat Burners
Carb Blockers
Fat Blockers
Appetite Suppressants
Cortisol Blockers

Weight loss pills:
Obesity research have shown when it comes to appetite, certain hormones, enzymes and genes all play a role in signaling the brain when it's time to eat. Obese people who are dieting and losing weight have increased levels of the hungry hormone in their blood. The more pounds they lose, the more their bodies demand they eat more to make up the difference. Most of ourweight loss pills or appetite suppressants ensure that you feel fill so that you have no appetite and you don't miss the food! Simply eating less would help anybody lose weight.

Adipex, Didrex, Phentermine, Phendimetrazine, Meridia, Acomplia, are appetite suppressants. Though all of these are prescription drugs and extremely helpful for people who are obese due to medical reasons. All these drugs are prescribed for a very short period as long term use can have serious side effects.

Diet pills though are not intended to replace conventional diet and weight loss programs.

Weight loss programs:
A lot many Americans have eliminated carbohydrates from their diets following weight loss programs. There are carbs that are very good and some that are less good, but the body needs some carbohydrates everyday. Temporary fad diet programs that promise ultra-fast weight loss in a very short time are flawed at the grass root level. There are all kinds of different weight loss program out there and a new program comes out almost every day. For eg:
- Low Fat Weight Loss Program
- High Protein Weight Loss Program
- Fixed Menu Weight Loss Program
- Pre Packaged Meal Weight Loss Program
- Formula Diet Weight Loss Program

A weight loss program can be helpful if chosen carefully. It should be based on science and real world experience from hundreds of clients. A diet that actually works and works long term. It should be safe. It should include all vital vitamins, minerals, and protein. The weight loss diet should be low in calories (energy) only, not in essential foodstuffs. Also, the weight loss program diet must not be restrictive or you won't be able to stick with it.

Diet plans should be chosen with care and should be practical that can be sustained for a long period of time. Weight loss happens only if one is able to sustain that weight loss.
