Screensavers At Our Days

By Dmitry

Screensaver is a type of software, which changes the static image on a desktop with a sequence of dynamically moving images after a certain period of computer inactivity. These software programs appeared long time ago, when computer monitors were not very advanced. At that time, if a static image was left on the screen for a while, it could become permanently "burnt" into a monitor. To prevent this from happening, someone came up with an idea to make screens go blank after a certain period of time and have them display dynamic images instead of a static one.

Modern monitors are no longer in danger; they can display the static images for as long as it is needed without burning them in. However, the screensavers have not disappeared; on the contrary, they have formed a respectable and group of software products. Currently you can find tens of thousands of screensavers that add a personal touch to your computer and fun to your routine work. New technologies advance the screensavers, turning them into the incredible state-of-the-art software.

For instance, take a look at the screensavers produced by 3D Relax. These are not merely sequences of animated images; these screensavers are more like the whole world of nature on your desktop, living and breathing, with animals walking, birds flying, insects buzzing, with the sun rising and setting, waves lapping shores, and with live sounds of nature. These screensaver have certain higher requirements to computer hardware, but nowadays most users have CPU over 1 GHz and video cards no less than NVIDIA GeForce MX 400, which is quite enough to enjoy these desktop enhancements. 3D Relax screensavers are very customizable: you can choose scenery and backgrounds, change setting, the types and numbers of animated objects (fish, sharks, dolphins, butterflies, dinosaurs, whatever), select music, holiday tunes or sounds of nature, etc. Must see to believe!
