The Month of Leo, 2006
By Sharita Star
We now move further into summer as the Sun transits into the Zodiac's second fire sign, Leo. Here we see the element of fire in a fixed state, allowing these natives to possess organizational ability. The Sun rules Leo and their animal symbol is the mighty lion. They are no strangers to finding roles in life where they reign, feeling just like the king of the forest. Leos are one of the non-Cardinal signs that due to their innate talent to manage, often execute their tasks in leadership positions.
Loyalty is the typical Leo's most admirable quality. Dignity is another essential ingredient that grants them success in any task they undertake. The Leo's energy is creative and self-expression marks their every move. Being the Sun is the center of our solar system, our lions more often than not find themselves right at the heart of any situation where they are on stage. They supremely play the role of inspiring and radiating faith. Like the comfort of the fire in a fireplace, they warm and attract people to them. Extremely hospitable, they enjoy sharing in the pleasures that life has to offer.
On the opposite side of their polarity, Leos can be indolent, demanding, overly dramatic, and exuberant. Like the lion, they are extremely territorial and are protective of their immediate environment. To express themselves fully they must learn to cultivate humility, thriftiness, benevolence, and be able to give attention to detail rather than to just focus on the big picture alone.
Leo energy affects each and every one of us. Perhaps you have a Leo moon or a Leo rising, or one of the other interpreted planets in Leo in your chart. In any astrological birth chart, Leo rules over a particular area of the life, depending upon how the 12 pieces of the Zodiac "pie" lay out for the individual. In the numerical analysis as well, Leo characteristics can be seen in any vibration of the 1, which also are ruled by the Sun.
This month we see Mercury going Direct in Cancer, retracing its' degrees in forward motion, entering Leo again on August 10th. If projects insisted upon being initiated over Mercury Retrograde, this marks the time that further restructuring will be seen. Watch for an intensity of showy and possible self-centered energies as both Mercury and Venus join Saturn in Leo on August 12th and will be in transit together until near the close of August. Communications, values and disciplines will all be in a pull with the opposition of dreamy and illusive Neptune in Aquarius, still in its' retrograde motion. The urge for reform within our sympathetic natures is stronger than ever for the collective consciousness.
The United States has now entered a 19 Personal Year Cycle, which represents the extremely blessed Chaldean karmic mystery of The Prince of Heaven. This marks the beginning of a brand new 9-year cycle. Many changes and shifts will be taking place over the next year. With the 19 reducing to a singular 1 vibration, there is a new creative force that our nation is being asked to adhere to. We are requested to cast off what no longer works, to bring benevolence and protection as the end result of our actions. As we celebrate the 4th of July 2007, the United States enters the 20/2 personal year, representing The Awakening. The year ahead prepares us for the emotional cleansing the 2 moon ruled year will bring, as we collectively arrive at a deep awareness that we have never experienced before up till now.
May you continue to indulge in the lazy days of summer Stars while you perform acts of heartfelt kindness and take the time to explore your creative natures…
