Microsoft Outlook :: Dominate Your Inbox!

By Eric Roberts

Is your Outlook inbox filled with hundreds or even a thousand (or more!) email messages? Take back control and get your Inbox back into shape!

If you run your own small (or home-based) business or you work in a corporate setting - keeping your email organized is very important. Think of it this way - if all of your emails were paper files - you wouldn't just keep them all staked up in one huge pile - would you?

If your email inbox is busting at the seams to overflowing - it's going to take some time to get organized and get everything filed properly. Even then, there is no rule that says you have to do it all in one sitting - but to increase your chances for success you should plan to spend some time over the weekend or perhaps in the evening.

The first step is to decide how you want to organize everything. Take a quick look at all the email in your inbox and jot down on a piece of paper all the different categories you can think of. For example:

Junk Mail
Need Action
Work
Personal
Scrapbooking
Training
Software
etc.

Now create email folders for each of those categories. Don't worry about making a mistake, you can always go back and change the name. If you come across emails that would fit better into a sub-category of one of your main folders - just create a subfolder of your main folder.

TIP! You can select more than one email at once! If you want to select more than one email and they are one after another - hold down the SHIFT key, click on the first email and then click on the last email. If the emails you want to select are not together in the list - hold down the CTRL key and click on the individual emails. You can now move these email all at the same time.

Once you get going - you'll see that it's very easy to get organized! To get more detailed information, tips and strategies on taking back control of your Outlook inbox - check out the free articles at http://www.1clicktraining.com.
