Nokia 8800: Sensible sophistication.

Manufacturers claims that the Nokia 8800 is made with cues from modern watchmaking and jewelry techniques. You can truly appreciate this piece of industrial design only when you hold it in your hand. Nokia 8800's distinct look and superb build quality is its forte. Almost the whole phone is made up of stainless steel and finished in a brushed silver casing. The liberal use of metal gives impression of reliability and durability.
The TFT LCD display with 256K colours is placed on a fine-pitched sapphire screen. The display is not only scratch-resistant but also produce image with striking clarity. The surrounding area of the display is a metallic chrome mirror like surface. An unique sliding mechanism like those used in high-performance automobiles reveals the keypad almost effortlessly with automatic finishing mechanism.
Nokia 8800 works on the famous Series 40 menu system. The sounds, themes and wallpapers are truly exclusive. Even the ringtones for this handset is composed by award wining composer, Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The phone have 64Mb of NAND flash memory for carrying your necessary files.
Surprisingly, Nokia 8800 have a moderate, 0.5 megapixel SVGA camera with zoom. Nevertheless, three types of file quality and compression are supported. The camera records video as well in QCIF format in two quality settings. The device includes a music player that supports playlist and have an equalizer that noticeably changes the sound. The player supports mp3 with various bit rates and the playback quality is incredibly high. A visual radio finds its place in the feature list as well.
The tri-band GSM phone works American and European band and switches automatically between them. The phone is packed with EDGE/GPRS for fast Internet connectivity, Bluetooth and USB for information transfer and synchronization with external devices.
