Samsung E870 – The power of simplicity.

By Grace Lewis

Pure is the word you'd like to use to describe the Samsung E870. A simple clamshell, smooth edges and a clean finish well complimented by soothing colour – the Samsung E870 comes in as a gush of fresh wind. The simplicity of the phone can also be seen in its user interface. For a phone packed with so many features, the Samsung E870 is quite user friendly.

The handset has been designed purely for performance. Both the screens - OLED external screen that displays up to 65K colours and the internal TFT screen with 262k colours produces crystal clear images. View your photographs after you capture your special moments with the 1.3 megapixel camera with auto flash and 4x digital zoom. Video recording is supported that too without any cap on its duration so that you get high quality footage of the whole action and not just a part of it.

The integrated music player plays all MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, and WMA audio files. The music player also supports playlist and an equalizer which changes sound output considerably. Playable video format includes MPEG4 and H.263.

The Samsung E870 is the perfect office tool. You can view all MS office documents and PDF files through the Picsel Viewer. With the TV-Out feature, view the phone display on TV or other external devices. GPRS with EDGE keeps you connected to the Internet and browse through WAP 2.0. With the email client never miss an email. You can synchronize the handset with PC through cable or Bluetooth.

Talking about space, the Tri-band handset have 80 MB of internal memory, 1000 phonebook entries (5 phone numbers each apart from email addresses and other notes), 200 messages, 400 events in the organizer, 30 call log entries and many more. And when you are tired of work, loosen yourself by playing the in-built Java games.

The Samsung E870 is like the ocean, peaceful and soothing outside, but packs in a lots of power.
