Who doesn't want to turn their hobby, interest, or expertise into income on the internet? Many people make a good living online selling products, information and services related to something that they are passionate about. This can be done through niche marketing. We all have something that we are passionate about. What do you enjoy? Boating, traveling, real estate investing... How much money do you spend a year on your hobby or interest? Don't you think that other people spend money on the same interest? How many millions (or billions) of dollars do you think are spent on golf clubs, apparel and accessories every year?

The biggest key to making money in niche marketing is knowing who you are selling to and find out what products or services they want. Focus on the market not the product. Let the market tell you what they want. Find out what they want, give it to them and you will make money.

When you find these characteristics in any market, all you have to do is find out what they want and you will make money.

How do you find these niche markets? Start with your hobbies and interests. Look through magazines, browse listings for clubs and organizations, and surf the internet. Once you find a market that has the three characteristics listed above, find out if they are easily reached on the internet. If they aren't easily reached then keep looking. Again, it doesn't make sense to chase a market. You want a market that feels compelled to buy. The key to niche marketing is to find out exactly what your market wants to buy. Don't guess, most of the time your will guess wrong. Besides it is very easy to sell a person something they already want.

The concept of niche marketing is to market a specialized product (or service) to a highly targeted audience. Your online niche business should focus on one area or item and become the expert on it. Your niche website should fill a specific need or want for a segment of a much larger market. The site should become the leader in that segment and attract only those that have an interest in your specific product or service. Those are the only people that you want to attract, remember this is a very specific, highly targeted market. Ultimately, if your site is filled with irresistible products that appeal to your highly targeted audience, the sales should start rolling in...
