Nokia Isle of Wight Festival Launch
By Libertines
Piggotts, the London marquee rental specialists has been awarded the contract to supply marquees at the Nokia Isle of Wight Festival 2004 for the second year running. Tradition has always been a part of Piggotts philosophy and both they and the organisers of the festival are happy to contibue with the contract.
The first Isle of Wight 'Pop' Festival took place in August 1968. Jefferson Airplane were the only major act on the bill, the lesser known Arthur Brown, The Move, Plastic Penny, T-Rex and The Mirage joined them. Tickets could be purchased in advance for £1.25. 10,000 people arrived to see the groups play on stage constructed from 2 trailers.
The contract will see Piggotts provide two 15 x 25m aluminium framed, clear span tents for an expected 350 VIP guests. This is no mean feat as the Piggotts team and Universal, their partner staffing agency, will need to ship all the equipment and their fellow colleagues unscathed across the Solent! A challenge they successfully achieved last year in partnership with Solo Promotors, and a mission they are again looking forward to completing this year.
Today's blend of tradition and innovation sees Piggotts as one of the oldest private UK companies, offering a fully comprehensive range of quality products and services.
Piggotts has been established for more than 200 years and as one of the oldest private UK companies prides itself on its unique blend of tradition and innovation. Deirdre Morgan, Managing Director of Piggotts commented, " The team's hard work has paid off and we are exceptionally proud to retain this contract. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Solo for many years to come."
