The Frogger Called Indian Traffic

By Abhimanyu Singh

Indian traffic and its superb road safety is no less than the game of frogger.

The traffic is smooth but road is chock-a-block. The pace is that of a snail, but the roadway safety is ensured. The only mentality that drives the guys is just move on.

Traffic rules in India are too fine to discuss. The driving tips are not needed, thanks. Traffic control is either on your brakes or on your race peddles. The Indian road traffic news is as follows, straight from the observers of a clip from the overpopulated, traffic-laden street in the city of Hyderabad.

Says one how precarious it is for a pedestrian to cross a road through the moving traffic and without being even touched by the motorists flanking you, with you and all moving in good motion – 'people won't believe but this happens to an average Hyderabadi atleast twice a day.'

Another finds it hilarious –'haha, that was so crazy'. And this one is talking about the frogger and mind you he is darn right and to the point when the street of Hyderabad reminds him of frogger. 'Just reminds me of Frogger!', he says.

'Oh my god! HAHA benjabituya i was gonna write the same thing...LOL. Reminds me of the streets of Karachi man. sheesh, desis and cars! lol.' you may not be able to fathom what is talking about. But then what is it about.

This guy has been taken in by the rickshaws, the tricycles which you may find on small lanes of India just everywhere. He says, 'Rickshaws are so cute, I miss rickshaws even if they're super dangerous and can trip over at any minute and make enough noise to drive one mad in 5 minutes.' This one calls the Indian traffic maze a 'damn'. Whereas the other one is wows at the Indian's expertise saying, 'that is why Indian people are so freaking good at frogger.'

This guy is sure what he is saying and his reaction is a matter of fact statement, 'The drivers know he is there and are going slow enough to avoid him. That would not happen many other places.'
