Body Cleansing

By John Black

Stress, environmental pollution, unhealthy diets and fast foods are inseparable companions of our modern lives. The food we eat is packed with artificial hormones, insecticides and other chemicals which destroy its essential nutrients and vitamins. Environmental pollution enters our systems with the food we consume, the water we drink, and the air we breathe in. When pollution enters your system, it causes levels of toxins to build up in the body. These toxins affect adversly the functioning of the entire body, especially the functioning of vital organs such as the liver, the kidneys, and the colon.
Most detoxifying techniques concentrate on cleansing particular organs, such as the colon, liver or kidneys. Colon cleansing therapy involves the consumption of fiber and other herbal supplements who are intended to clean the colon. Kidney cleansing therapy uses juices, supplements and herbs to dissolve kidney stones and flush the kidneys. Similarly, in liver cleansing therapy specific foods are consumed in order to stimulate the liver and gall bladder to flush toxins and fatty deposits from the body.

An effective colon cleanse therapy should always begin with removing the wastes from the colon, the last portion of your food processing chain. Actually, when cleansing our body, we should start with the colon. It has been proven that although other parts of the body such as the liver, lungs, kidneys and the cardiovascular system can be cleansed without completing a colon cleanse, we can achieve the most effective and sustainable results once we start with a thorough colon cleanse.

The major purpose of the colon is to expel the toxins and wastes that it collects from other organs of the system. However, if the colon is not functioning properly and efficiently, the toxins and wastes excessively accumulate in the colon and become too numerous to expel. Ineffectively functioning colon becomes recycling the waste back into the body. The recycled waste and toxins can accumulate in our organs and impair their functioning.
