Saturn Car Owners, Be On The Lookout

By Jenny McLane

According to reports from the police in the area of Sacramento and California, many Saturn vehicles have become targets of car thieves. In fact, it seems like the trend is that these dishonest people have chosen Saturn cars as easy targets and as their flavor for the month. In lieu with this, the police has informed the public about this and they are warning owners of Saturn cars and vehicles to beware and always be on the alert.

This whole situation might have been less serious if perhaps only a couple of Saturn auto body parts are taken away. Perhaps the wheel or the hubcap or perhaps the side mirrors. However, what is alarming is that the whole vehicle is lost. Saturn auto body parts can be easily replaced but to replace a whole Saturn vehicle can be quite a burden for car owners.

According to Officer Pete Smith, one of the Stockton police, last August, there were a total of eighteen Saturn vehicles that were stolen in the area. This can be considered as a great amount. In fact, one could say that there is one Saturn car that is stolen every two days. Officer Smith even states, "Any time you have a series going like this and you are losing as many in a short period of time as we are. We are looking at somebody who is comfortable taking cars of that type."

The Stockton Police have come up with studies of the whole situation and so far, they have assessed that the culprits behind the disappearance and robbery of such vehicles could have been planned. In fact, they claim that the car thief, or car thieves for that matter, might already have a "shaved key". This special key can be used to open not only one Saturn vehicle but it could be also be used so as to be able to get inside other versions of Saturn cars. Officer Smith further explains, "Shaving keys is as old as cars."

However, those with Saturn vehicles can also have peace of mind knowing that the Stockton police are doing their very best so as to be able to find a solution to this situation. They claim that last Wednesday, one Saturn vehicle that has been stolen was recovered and they were able to arrest the culprit which was a woman.
