Finding "The One": Choosing an Internet Business Plan That You Can Stick With

By Ron Hoover

When thinking about starting an online business, it is important to think about what you really love, or what you are very good at. Even if you are not very good at it chances are if you really love it you will become very good at it. Make a list of things (yes, I'm sure you have enough interests to make a list!) and think long and hard about the thing that you are least likely to lose interest in.

Let's say, for example, that you really love shopping. Now, it seems unlikely that shopping could turn into a profit, but to prove that practically any passion can turn into a career, I'll tell you how.If you really love shopping, one idea for an online business might be going out and combing vintage and thrift shops for rare designer finds.I know one eBay store owner who found a Vivian Tam shirt at Goodwill, and bought it for $5. That shirt later sold on eBay for over $100!The reason why this business works for people who love to shop is that they have developed a keen eye for good quality, and chances are someone else out there is likely to like the same things.

The reason why pyramid schemes, online surveys and stuffing envelopes rarely work is not simply because they are scams, but also because people just aren't passionate about these types of jobs. What is the point of starting an online home based business that you are bored with, when you could find a much more stable boring job in the outside world?

By making sure that your online business is something you are enthusiastic about, you are ensuring that it is something you will stick with for longer than a few months.

Being enthusiastic about your business will also help in marketing. If you want to tell everyone about what you're doing, then you are more likely to get new customers!

It is also important to be enthusiastic about the type of marketing you are doing. Make sure that the business cards you order (or make) look just the way you want them to, so that you can hand them out proudly.

In conclusion, just remember "Do what you love, the rest will come easy".
