Sony Ericsson K800i – The smart and sharp camera phone.

By Ben Bradle

The imaging prowess of the Sony Ericsson K800i can be gauged from the fact that it has topped most rating charts for camera phones in the year 2006. The first handset from Sony Ericsson to be endowed with the highly acclaimed Cyber-Shot brand name from Sony's stand alone digital camera series, the K800i is now the most popular camera phone among shutterbugs.

The 3.2 megapixel camera comes with 16x digital zoom, image and video stabilizer, auto focus and Xenon flash. What makes the camera on the Sony Ericsson K800i unique is the incorporation of BestPic™ technology. It serves as a picture buffering mechanism that lets you capture nine images in one second with a single press of the camera key. Four frames before and four after the capture, and you have an array of nine images from which to choose the best. The mechanism comes in very handy while capturing moving and fleeting images.

The K800i also automatically sets up a blog for you the first time you send in a picture. This excellent camera phone is also a 3G phone and gives you all the advantage and connectivity options that 3G technology facilitates – video calling, web browsing, push email etc. You can experience smooth and full HTML internet through its NetfFront browser and receive RSS news feeds. There are plenty of options for sharing and data transfer like Bluetooth, Infrared, USB and Modem. RDS FM radio and Java enabled 3D game support complements the entertainment qouta.

The combination of 3G support and a high caliber digital camera has ensured the growing popularity of this handset. Statistics from Flickr reveals that among bloggers the Sony Ericsson K800i has been a favourite. The crisp detailing, remarkable focus and colour consistency of the Sony Ericsson K800i have received eulogizing reviews all over the globe. The Sony Ericsson K800i is one of the serious contenders to the future of standalone digital cameras.
