Samsung X820 – as slim as it gets.

By ben

The ongoing conflict between Motorola and Samsung for the slimmest phone have risen to the next level with the launch of the 'ultra slim' Samsung X820.The handset is supposedly the world's slimmest mobile phone with mere 6.9 mm thick body and weighing just 66 gm. The fiberglass-infused plastic body is more robust than it seems and looks quite elegant in matte black body with silver chrome design. The manufacturers deserve a pat in the back for making the super slim phone without compromising on its functionality.

The 1.9 inch QVGA, TFT-LCD display that produces rich and vibrant 262k colours gives a hint about the rich feature list squeezed inside. A powerful 2.0 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor that captures accurate colours and hues is integrated. Video recording in 3GP format is also supported. An Image editor with various functions is also accommodated for your convenience. The integrated media player supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, AMR formats and plays them in the speaker or stereo Bluetooth headset according to your preference. The 80 MB user memory is quite impressive for such a small and slim device.

Samsung X820 supports tri-band mobile network and also gives you Internet connectivity through GPRS (Class 10). Access your business and personal emails with the email client. Work on MS Word, Excel, Power-Point, TXT, PDF and JPEG files with the document viewer and if you find the display too small for the purpose, with 'Direct TV-output+' transfer the images to an external screen. High configuration Bluetooth wireless technology for easy file transfers, and wireless printing other than the USB makes life as simple as it can be. The Samsung X820 supports Multi-tasking as well which means you can listen to your favourite tune while you work on the handset.

'Featherweight nature, heavyweight features' – that pretty much sums up the Samsung X820 .
