BlackBerry 8700G: An outstanding e-mail and messaging device

The Blackberry 8700G is designed specially for businessmen and is the latest addition to RIM's 8700 series of PDA phones. The phone has a comfortable 35-key QWERTY keyboard and a vibrant 2.5-inch display. The light sensing feature automatically adjusts the brightness of the display depending on your environment. The 8700G claims to provide the best in-class solution for 'push' e-mail, phone, text messaging, organizer, browser and access to corporate data applications.
The phone feature RIM's push email technology which brings your messages directly to the handheld. It expands the push email technology to include Yahoo Web mail accounts. The BlackBerry 8700g has an improved browser that offers a better internet experience. It is certainly heavier than most handsets but small enough to comfortably held to your ear. Battery life is up to four hours of talk time and 16 days on standby.
The quad band phone includes an address book, calendar, task manager, web browser, calculator,picture viewer, and lots more. Since the Blackberry is primarily an email device but one of the essential features of the phone is how it handles messages and attachments. The phone can show attachments in Microsoft word, excel, PDF and powerpoint formats. It also features an automatic screen light sensor. You can choose themes, offering text or the traditional icons with a choice of background to customise the screen. Quadband operation of the phone allows you to roam globally.
The 8700 provides the ultimate balance of design, performance and function. It operates on the latest high speed wireless networks and provides leading BlackBerry functionality like web browsing, email, phone, MMS, SMS and organizer applications. The BlackBerry 8700G supports Bluetooth connectivity and the device has 64MB of flash memory, and the 16MB SDRAM is separate. The quad band and EDGE enabled, 8700G supports national and international roaming.


We can say that overall the Blackberry 8700G is an impressive e-mail device.
