Why Is Lead Distribution Important?

By James Hasson

Every lead that one may deal with is unique and should therefore be separately. Leads should be handled according to both priority and also time sensitivity. As a result, distributing a lead correctly from the beginning is paramount.

The most successful programs are very organized when it comes to dealing with different leads. Giving all leads the same amount of attention will not yield the best success. Instead, truly successful companies distribute leads in an optimized manner and devote varying amounts of time to different leads. For example, a higher-priority lead would be sent to sales immediately, and a lower priority lead would be sent to marketing where it would be addressed later. Companies with good lead distribution also have systems in place that inform the proper persons if a lead is not getting enough attention. Statistics have proven that many companies lose potential sales by simply letting leads go. Companies take every effort to collect leads, and so it makes sense that every lead gathered should be given the best attention.

Contacting sales prospects quickly and efficiently can have very positive effect on conversion rate. In fact, studies show that contacting a sales prospect within 30 minutes can increase close ratios by 40 percent. Solid lead distribution software can help a company beat competition to every sales prospect. It can also eliminate lag between lead reception, contact, and eventual closing.

Lead distribution software can also ensure that the right people are dealing with the right lead. (Bad things happen when the wrong company representative is talking to the wrong lead.) Companies want to make sure that leads are given the best and most appropriate attention. Software can delegate workers specific tasks to ensure complete efficiency.

As you have hopefully realized throughout reading this article, lead distribution is very important. To summarize, companies spend large amounts of time and resources gathering leads. Lead gathering is an investment, and so it should be followed up with the same amount of effort. Lead distribution can help companies follow up on leads by assigning specific leads to appropriate departments and giving leads the correct amount of attention. Potential customers are given attention based on their status of being hot, warm, or cold. In the end, the most successful companies will undoubtedly have efficient lead distribution software and therefore they can execute on these leads in a superior manner. The business world is extremely competitive, and in order to stay ahead of the curve, every company should strive to master the art of lead distribution.
