Your home business opportunity - getting the word out

By Rebecca Gilbert

Everyone that has an online business knows that getting the word out is essential to your home business success.

Simply having a website, an opportunity or product does not mean that you are going to make any money. If you cannot successfully get the word out and continuously draw visitors to your website, you will soon be on the fast track to failure.

I use many forms of advertising, and I believe that everyone must do the same. During my two years on the Internet, I have seen many forms of advertising dry up because they became over populated with other advertisers. When this type of thing happens you must have other forms of advertising to fall back on.

One of the forms of advertising that I have used from the start and continue to use to advertise my business opportunity is business cards.

Business cards are fantastic for new home business owners who are on a tight budget. I bought my first set of 300 blank business cards at Wal-Mart for about $4.00. Avery makes a sheet of standard size business cards that will work perfect with the business card template in Microsoft Word. Simply create your business cards in Microsoft Word, place your Avery business card sheets in your printer and presto…you have 300 business cards in a matter of minutes.

I place these business cards in every paid bill that I send out. I hang them at every bulletin board that I can find. Most restaurants, gas stations and convenience stores have bulletin boards.

I also leave them on the table with the tip when I leave a restaurant. When I travel, I leave one in the hotel room, and my favorite place to leave business cards is at my local bank. These bank tellers see me deposit about five or six various checks from Google and other online business opportunities that I am affiliated with, each and every month.

You can get the entire family involved in passing out business cards too!

Take a look at your daily activities and I'm sure you will find all kind of opportunities to get the word out by simply passing out business cards.
