The War Between Quality and Quantity Is Taking Over the Television Industry

Taking a step back when satellite and cable television were the only two options a consumer had the choice of for their television entertainment, new approaches were constantly being used to win over new customers. From promotional packages, to reduced pricing, to additional features, the cable and satellite providers have always been at war with one another to try and get the largest amount of customers. Unfortunately for them, a new competitor has jumped into the industry of television entertainment.
Within a short amount of time, the Internet started to make its mark on the television industry. Granted, it all started with online videos, but it has evolved to way more than just that. With the help of groups like Satellite TV For PC, the exact same channels you can get in traditional cable and satellite packages can now only cost a fraction of the price. Fraction of the price doesn't mean reduced monthly fees either; it means eliminating the monthly fees for good. Through utilizing the technologies that make up the Internet, innovators such as those at Satellite TV For PC give you the option of buying packages (having 3,000+ television and radio stations) for a one-time fee. Let it be known that the stations that come with the Satellite TV for PC package are national and global tv networks.
There is a drawback to Internet TV though: it currently does not support HDTV. Currently known as the highest quality of television available, cable and satellite services utilize this advantage in the television industry. What's interesting is a lot of people have been quite surprised about the prerequisites of HDTV in a negative manner.
A false assumption people have is the idea of only needing to buy an HDTV television to watch shows in high definition. This is only a part of it though. Additionally, consumers will need to upgrade to HDTV-compliant cable or satellite packages and possibly buy additional cables and parts. On top of that, people come to the harsh realization that even with the HDTV-upgraded package, not all of their channels are capable of high definition. As you can see, this usually comes as an unpleasant surprise to many people.
So, where does this all lead? It really comes down to the preferences of the consumer. If they are interested in getting the large quantity of stations for the one-time fee, the Satellite TV For PC method will probably be their choice. Then again, if they want optimal picture quality and are willing to pay the additional fees incurred, they will probably want to go with their traditional cable or satellite provider. One thing that is for certain though: Internet TV is evolving the way people can acquire and watch television.
