A Guide to Buying Bedding

By Elijah Gichuhi

Protect you investment (s) and improve your night sleep by buying the right bedding. A good bedding can a make a whole difference on how you feel and function each and everyday. The following are important tips to put into consideration before buying your comforter, bed sheets, mattress, pillows and mattress pad:

Comforters
Comforters are one of the popular bed line items on the market today. They add color, pattern and interest to a room as well as a layer of insulating warmth. Before buying a comforter take measurements for your bed. Check on their filling and thread count.

Bed sheets
You may need to check on the sheet measurements, thread count, laundering instructions. Don't forget to check on how the sheets feel.
Mattress
Decide on the rightful size of the mattress, set your budget, and try to figure out how the bed is made thereby to fit properly with the depth of the mattress. You may "sleep on it" or lie on the mattress in the store to test its firmness. After purchasing, remember that proper care can extend the lifespan of a mattress.

Pillows
We spend a third of our lives in bed, and so we can make those hours as comfortable as possible. A good pillow is designed to keep the spine in alignment, and designed to give comfort. Thus when buying a pillow decide on the right size, filling material, firmness and price before buying it. If you are allergic to pillow stuffing, add a pillow cover to prevent the stuffing from coming out.

Mattress Pad
As with sheets, a mattress pad's thread count indicates its quality, durability, and feel. Higher thread counts have a tighter weave for a smooth, luxurious touch. Mattress pads also help preserve the life of your mattress by keeping skin oils, accidental spillage of food and liquids from staining and weakening the quality of the mattress.

Buy bedding with confidence
Before buying any bedding, know what exactly you're buying. Get to know more about the reseller and whether you are protected if you are buying online.
