How to make money with Google Adsense Part 2

You've been approved for Google Adsense, congratulations! So you're wondering what's next or perhaps you've started doing your homework already by searching the web for Adsense related information, maybe you've even gone so far as buying an e-book on Adsense. I'll assume you know very little about it and start easy.
Once you log into your account there is a tab for Adsense Setup. You can follow Google's simplified instructions and easily have a copy&paste, functional javascript coding for your website pages. During this process you can choose the sizes of the ads for your pages using Google's predefined ad sizes, and no, you cannot choose your own. You can also choose between text or image based ads or both along with borders and font colors to help integrate into your site. It is very simple to make the code, it is a little harder to make it blend into your site and it is very important to optimize the position of your ads.
It is important to optimize your ads to fit the theme of your site and put them in places where people will see them and more importantly, click on them. Google has a "hot map" that shows some of the best places to put your ad. I recommend inline with your links and articles and top middle, just below your navigation bar.
This will help improve your CTR, click through ratio. What is that? It is the number of people that click on your ads compared to the number of pageviews of your ads. The higher the better! This doesn't mean click on your own ads! Google will close your account and they have very sophisticated tracking! If your site is already popular or you feel that you can get a lot of traffic you won't have to worry about it. I've read that some of the biggest players are making over $250,000/month!! Yes, per month! Don't expect this right away, don't expect anything and you won't be let down. Focus your time on building web pages with quality content and eventually start making money!
