The basement of the house is not always finished with the completion of the house. It is left for construction according to the recent spatial developments of the house. But you can make your basement play various roles, you can have it as an extension of your living area, you can use it as your comfy music room, can use it as the playroom for the kids or you can adapt a portion into a special bath or can have a bar.

When you decide to complete your basement the huge number of ideas and tips to complete your basement will amaze you. Tread carefully in this maze and make the right choice with a perfect translation of your choice into reality.

There is no doubt that finishing off an incomplete basement requires planning on a much smaller-scale. However, there are some basics, which you just cannot overlook to turn your basement into a cozy corner and make it a useful part of your dwelling. There are a thousand things, which you need to take care.

Notably the plumbing, insulation, waterproofing, proper air circulation and lighting of the room should be given top priority. Actually, without these essential cares your ideas for remodeling or finishing an unfinished basement are sure to become a flop. But again, it is your ideas for remodeling or finishing an unfinished basement that decide for you your work strategy.

: If your secret desire tells you of an underground bath then you must descend in reality to keep the floor in good condition. The plumbing, drainage system and water lines below the basement floor must be in proper condition.

Complete all electrical work, including installation of heating and cooling systems, etc. Install shelves if you are thinking of turning the basement into an underground study. Otherwise, introduce alarm wirings, telephone cables, etc. if you are thinking of using it as a home-office.

Now you have reached the final stage of finishing your basement. It is better if you discuss your plans for basement with a good architect or interior designer and exploit the basement area more fully. If you want you can install a carbon monoxide detector in your basement to make it safer. Make sure that air can breathe playfully; I mean good air circulation and make the light illuminate your basement adequately illuminating your living too.
