The Essence Of True Wedding Is To Flow Together Harmoniously!

By Javier Fuller

The word 'Vivaha' is beautifully composed. ( Vivaha is a word from Sanskrit Language which means Wedding, Marriage). Now let's have a look at the etymology of the word in this rich and classical Old Indic literary language.

The word vivaha (marriage) is a composition of two words “Vaha” and “Vi.” Wherein, “Vaha” means “to flow” and “'Vi' means “harmoniously together.” Therefore, linguistically the word vivaha means “to flow together harmoniously.”

That is, after a wedding ceremony two distinct individuals, two separate personalities, bred, born and brought up in two different environments, two separate set of circumstances, try to come together from the wedding day onwards, to find a common identity, a common goal and to be precise, a common all!

The Satan of Divorce may not be inspired from the above explanation. If all the married couples live happily, HE, the Satan of Divorce, would face the unemployment problem.

Some more interesting marriage resolutions. Let's see what the bride prays for on this fateful day:

“Eternal salutations to you my Lord,

The world is run by only with Thy concord,

Listen therefore, to my heart's prayer,

Let my beloved live longer.”

“The sacred deeds of your past birth,

Have broken the Time's bond and have brought forth,

To you, this immense joy and bliss,

Today, your dreamland's goddess.”

Wedding is the day for sowing such beautiful and noble feelings. Now, you have a lifetime to live together!

What some 'modern thinkers' feel about the institution of marriage:

“Wedding is like a fort. Those who are inside, want to come out. Those who are outside want to get in.”

“Can two walk together except they be agreed?”

And finally, in the lighter vein, “Before, marriage, I had four principles for the success of my marriage. Now, I have four children, and no principles!”

The problems related to married life, were there, are there, and will be there. The problems between HE and SHE!

Is divorce solution for an “unsuccessful” marriage? 50% of the Americans think so! The divorce rates are increasing there at an astounding rate every year!

Unless the children are given the veto power, against their parent's divorce, in the nearest future, it is reasonable to assume that America will have only divorced couples! It will be difficult to find original couples!

The main problem for failed marriages, is the lack of understanding as to what happiness is all about. You thought that marriage will give you total happiness. You thought of your happiness and she thought about her happiness! You thought that marriage is your total life. You did not make the correct analysis that marriage is but a part of your total life.

Don't you ever question yourself- what happiness the marriage has given to me? Remember, the world can not run on happiness! Life is to be lived- in its trials and tribulations, in its duty and beauty.

Marriage is the foundation stone of your personal life as well as the social life. If the foundation is weak, the superstructure is bound to collapse.

By the way, are you going to celebrate your wedding anniversary? Many congratulations. My sincere prayers at the feet Almighty for your welfare and prosperity!
