Details Of The Discover Miles Card Application

By Joshua Shapiro

With the Discover Miles Card, which is offered by Morgan Stanley, cardholders can take advantage of the great travel rewards earned for purchases. It is designed for those with a good credit history who will benefit from the bonus rewards program.

With this Discover card, you will earn one mile for every dollar you spend on everyday purchases. Most major U.S. airlines will honor these bonus miles, and they can be redeemed for both regular and reduced airfares. A nice feature of these bonus miles is that there are no black out dates!

One thousand bonus miles can be earned with the Discover Miles Card every month for the first twelve months you have the card, too, so long as a purchase is made during that month. That is a total of 12,000 extra bonus miles! A maximum of 60,000 miles can be earned every year, but they do not expire as long as your account is active during a three year period.

Other perks of the Discover Miles Card are platinum benefits like auto rental insurance, up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance and other internet account services.

The Discover Miles Card has no annual fee! There is also no charge for additional cards on the account. Plus, cardholders get a 0% introductory rate for the first year of having the card, which applies to both purchases and balance transfers. The variable APR after the first year is low at 10.99%, while the fixed APR for cash advances is 20.99%. Fees are charged for services like balance transfers, cash advances and when cardholders exceed their credit limit.

One disadvantage of the Discover Miles Card is that it uses the "Two Cycles Average Daily Balance" in determining its finance charges, which is more costly to those carrying a balance. Most cards offer the "Average Daily Balance" as the method of determining finance charges.

Since the bonus miles on this card can be used for a wide variety of airlines, this may be just the card a traveler needs.
