Knowing the Ford Freestar

By Chuck Smith

From the Ford Motor Company, the Ford Freestar is a minivan that has replaced the now defunct Ford Windster. The Ford Freestar has been touring the streets of the world since the year 2004. It can take in a maximum of seven passengers in its interior. During the introduction of this vehicle, critics say that the Ford Motor Company should not claim that the Ford Freestar is "all new" since basically it is just a Ford Windstar that is hiding just beneath all that new sprucing up. Just like the Ford Explorer which was a twin vehicle, the Mercury Mountaineer, the Ford Freestar also has a twin vehicle and this is the Mercury Monterey. There already are some rumors that the Ford Motor Company is due to replace the Ford Freestar with another vehicle, the Ford Fairlane, that holds three rows of seats in its cabin and is a sport wagon. This is due to happen in 2008 if these buzz is true.

Upon the introduction of the Ford Freestar, it actually came equipped and ready for battle of the minivans. It held an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission system that was given as a standard feature. However, customers and patrons had the choice of opting for one of the two engines made available for this vehicle. There is the much smaller 3.9 L engine that could produce some 193 units of horsepower at 4500 rpm and some 240 pound feet of torque at 3750 rpm. Aside from that, there is also the much larger 4.2 L engine that could create some 201 units of horsepower at 4250 rpm and some 263 units of pound feet of torque at 3650 rpm.

The Ford Freestar has been given the capacity of seating seven passengers inside its cabin. It also has a fuel capacity of 26 gallons. It measures 120.9 inches for its wheelbase, some 201 inches in length, 76.4 inches of width, and an overall height with the luggage rack at 76.4 inches. The Ford Freestar has also been made available in three trim levels which comprise of the SE, the SEL, and the Limited. For the interior seats, interested parties has a choice of choosing either Flint, or Pebble. And as per the exterior's colors, the choices are Vibrant White, Arizona Beige, Dark Toreador Red, Spruce Green, Norsea Blue, Silver Birch, and Dark Shadow Gray.

Meanwhile, one of the best ways to maintain the quality of a vehicle is by replacing worn out and outdated parts with new ones. By doing this, the Ford Freestar and any Ford vehicle acquire a new life with excellent quality parts. These Ford Freestar parts and other Ford parts are available in many online stores that make shopping easier and faster. One such reliable and reputable online site is Ford Parts Online. By accessing Ford Parts Online, one could browse through their wide collection of quality and durable Ford Freestar parts and many other Ford parts like a/c condensers, header panels, front lights, and radiators among many others.
