Chrysler 300: Exceptionally Awarded

By Sarah McBride

Since 1955, there have already been many vehicles that have used the name Chrysler 300. Yet, for the very purpose of this article, the Chrysler 300 would be referring to the present vehicle, the luxury car that is running under the Chrysler brand. This modern vehicle has been rolling on the streets since the year 1999.

During its introduction back in 1999, the Chrysler 300 sported a front wheel drive system. It also held a V6 engine as its power source. It was then built on the LH platform from Chrysler. Going back to history, one could say that this vehicle had replaced the Eagle Vision and the Chrysler 300 has perfectly fit the niche that the Eagle Vision had vacated. The Chrysler 300 boasts of 105.8 cubic feet of passenger room which makes it not only roomy but spacious as well. It gives its customers a choice as per the seats' colors. The colors available for cloth seats are Dark Slate Gray, Light Graystone, and Light Slate Gray. On the other hand, if one chooses leather, the choices comprise of Dark Slate Gray, Light Graystone, Deep Jade, and Light Slate Gray. Customers and interested parties are also given a choice as per what color would the exterior of the Chrysler 300 come. The choices are Satin Jade Pearl, Magnesium Pearl, Bright Silver Metallic, Silver Steel Metallic, Cool Vanilla, Midnight Blue Pearl, Linen Gold Pearl, and Brilliant Black Crystal Coat.

Proof that the Chrysler 300 is an exceptional vehicle are the various awards and recognitions that it has received. This luxury car has made it to the Car and Driver magazine's 10 Best Cars for the year 2006 in the category for the Best Full Size Sedan category. It also has been Consumer Guide's Best Buy for that same year. The Chrysler 300 was also named as the North American Car of the Year for 2005 as well as the Automobile magazine's Automobile of the Year. Editors gave this vehicle the Editors' Most Wanted Vehicle for 2005. Edmunds.com also included this luxury car in its Top 10 Hippest for 2005. The Chrysler 300 also received the highest grade of five stars during the government's Frontal Crash Tests. Other awards include SmartMoney's Best Full Size Sedan for June 2004, Money magazine's Best Large Car for 2005, Maxim magazine's Car of the Year for 2005, African Americans On Wheels/Urban Wheel Awards Car of the Year, one of Chief Executive's top 10 Cars for CEOs, Automotive Rhythms Urban Elite Car of the Year, Automotive Fleet's Fleet Car of the Year for 2005, Road & Travel magazine's 2005 International Car of the Year, one of Advertising Age's 10 Hottest Cars for 2004, Detroit Free Press' Car of the Year for 2005, and Detroit News' Car of the Year for 2005.

With the Chrysler 300, automobile enthusiasts and people looking for the right kind of car could find everything in just one vehicle.
