By Ryan Becker

Get the inside scoop on all the best lodges and and resort hotels in and around Yosemite National Park. All lodges are not created equal...discover the truth before you make your vacation plans.

Ahwahnee Hotel:

The Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park is unmistakable in design and character. This National Historic Landmark was built in 1972 and today is one of the most distinctive resort hotels in North America. The Ahwahnee is well known for its majestic granite façade, its striking beamed ceilings, and its massive stone hearths.

Inside, the Ahwahnee is laden with richly colored Native American artwork and each of the 99 guestrooms and 24 individual cottages are finely appointed with décor chosen to blend seamlessly with the surrounding area.

The Ahwahnee's location in the center of the Yosemite Valley makes it an ideal location to view the Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and Glacier Point.

The Ahwahnee also plays host to a number of special public events throughout the year including the world famous Bracebridge dinner, and the Vintner's and Chef's holidays.

Tenaya Lodge:

The Tenaya Lodge is one of the more recent lodging additions to Yosemite Park. Tenaya Lodge is comprised of 244 rooms situated on 35 acres bordering the Sierra National Forest.

Tenaya Lodge is located in the southern heart of the Sierra Nevada mountain range at an impressive elevation of more than 5,000 feet above sea level. The south entrance to Yosemite National Park is lust two miles from the Tenaya's front door.

Wawona Hotel:

The historic Wawona Hotel lies four miles inside of the south entrance of Yosemite Park. The Wawona Hotel's prime location offers easy access to all of the areas most popular attractions and provided some incredible views for you to enjoy.

Nearly all of the hotel's 104 guestrooms open up to Wawona's signature verandas, reminiscent of European-style hotel rooms. The interior décor of the rooms also reflects the European heritage through various period pieces and antiques.

Apple Tree Inn:

The grounds of the Apple Tree Inn reflect the ambience of the pine forest where it is situated. Care was taken in building the Inn so that many of the native Ponderosa Pines, Firs, Sugar Pines, Maples and Oaks were preserved. The beds and border gardens are created in a manner that enhances this native landscape.

The Apple Tree Inn is a cottage-style resort and offers rooms and suites in cottages that are nestled among acres of soaring trees. Each room or suite offers a patio or balcony, fireplace, TV with satellite TV channels, refrigerators, VCR, microwave, and coffeemaker. Rooms offer two queen size beds and the suites offer two rooms, one with a queen size bed and another room with a king size bed

Yosemite View Lodge:

Yosemite View Lodge offers the best lodging at the west entrance. Just 2.5 miles outside the park, this beautiful lodge puts you close to all of Yosemite's attractions. All guest accommodations include kitchenettes and some include spa tubs, fireplaces, and river views. Combine the views, the rooms, and the location and you'll see while so many visitors stay at this lodge each year.

Curry Village:

Curry village offers one of the most economical, fun, and unique lodging options in Yosemite Park. Curry Village is an area of tent cabins, cabins, and other retail establishments. It's a major parking area for day-trippers and overnight backcountry enthusiasts. Keep in mind that this is a busy area however, and there is very little privacy. The bathroom areas are communal and the tent cabins are in very close proximity to each other.

Remember that it is best to ask about cancellation policies for HOTELS AT YOSEMITE PARK before solidifying your reservation as hotels are strict about keeping the cancellation policy. You will have an enjoyable trip when you know that all your plans are in place and you have the time and ability to change or cancel reservations.
