The 21st Century Hot Tub
By Terri Greene
The traditional hot tub experience has always been about one thing: relaxation. Hydrotherapy has been around for thousands of years, dating back to ancient Rome and beyond. It has proven to be a healthy treatment for people with poor circulation, sore muscles, and general physical unease. In recent times, the hot tub has made some incredible advances.
The popularity of the hot tub has literally exploded in the last 15 years. It seems like everyone has one these days. Each hot tub I see seems to have options that the previous one did not. It wasn't so long ago when I purchased mine, and even then it seemed outrageous to have a stereo and speakers built into it.
Now every other tub I see has a stereo surround system installed in it. These are not cheap stereos, either. The one I saw most recently has an excellent JBL sound system with a Denon CD player built into the side. To further blow my mind, the sound system was somehow incorporated into the tub so that the music could be felt as well as heard. Simply amazing!
Just a week or so ago, I was at a friends house for tea. We were gossiping about the other neighbors and having a lot of laughs. She and her husband were at a party I hosted a few weeks prior, so it was really nice to see them again. I asked where her husband was, and she told me that he was soaking in the tub. Apparently, he went out and bought one within a few days of my party. He simply couldn't live without one any longer.
Now, the one he bought is not just any old run-of-the-mill hot tub. He bought the Cadillac of hot tubs! Honestly, you would not believe this incredible machine. For starters, it could seat 8 people with ease and comfort. It had upwards of 80 jets, and various seating configurations. The thing that really caught my attention was the flat screen television that was recessed in the top edge of the tub! I couldn't believe it! This was no longer just a hot tub. This was the 21st century hot tub! I can be sure of one thing…..I'm going to be spending a lot more time at my friend's house! About the Author Terri Greene spends much of her time soaking in her favorite hot tub. When she is not telling her friends about the last hot tub party, she is threatening to sue them if the pictures end up on the internet. In her spare time, she writes for hottubsandhomespas.com – a resource for anyone interested in hot tub covers, hot tub accessories, Jacuzzi hot tubs and more.
