Flyleaf to Pick Winner of Ellio's Rock Star Challenge: Band Registration Ends 10/31/06

By Kris Nickerson

CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) September 26, 2006 - Teen bands only have one month to left to register for Ellio's Rock Star Challenge (www.elliosrockstar.com), the hottest battle of the bands ever to hit the Web. With over 190 bands already signed up, competition to become the first Ellio's Rock Star is heating up, and bands that want to want to enter the contest only have until October 31, 2006 to upload their MP3s and band profiles.

Representatives of Ellio's, the maker of delicious frozen pizzas for more than 40 years, are thrilled that the Rock Star Challenge is making waves across the nation. "So far, bands from 35 different states are represented," said Susan Pilcher, Ellio's brand manager. "New York has the most band registrations and MP3 uploads, followed closely by New Jersey and Florida." Ten bands from Massachusetts have also registered, as well nine from Alabama. Pennsylvania and Texas follow with eight bands each.

Beginning October 1, fans can help choose Ellio's Rock Star by voting for their favorite songs at www.elliosrockstar.com. "Many of the registered bands have generated buzz among their friends and fans, who are ready to cast their votes," said Pilcher. At the end of January 2007, the top five musicians with the most votes will advance to a final round, where members of Flyleaf, one of this year's hottest new bands, will choose the grand prize winner. The winner will be awarded a three-day recording session with a music producer approved by Flyleaf.

Music fans who comment or vote online will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes for an opportunity to win a Gibson Les Paul Studio Guitar, Klipsch iGroove Stereo Systems, 30GB Apple iPods, iTunes gift certificates, and coupons for a free Ellio's Microwave Cheese Pizza.

While today's teens have grown up loving Ellio's unique sauce and end-to-end toppings, the launch of Ellio's New Microwave Cheese Pizza makes it even easier for teen musicians and music fans to have a quality snack during practices or while listening to their favorite tunes. Pilcher added that the new Ellio's Microwave Cheese Pizza is a perfect fit with the teen lifestyle. "Teens want to spend their time listening to music and having fun, not on food preparation. Popping an Ellio's Pizza into the microwave is a simple and convenient way to get a delicious snack by a brand they know and love."

The Ellio's Rock Star Challenge delivers on three of teen's biggest passions: music, the Internet, and pizza. This online contest gives teens the opportunity to showcase their talent, listen to MP3s, cast votes for the next Ellio's Rock Star, and win prizes.
