Making your Website Research-friendly

By Maricon Williams

One advantage of living in the present milieu is the 'way in'. Modern technologies shrink the globe into something tiny and accessible. This makes access easier, faster and more reliable. Those that are used to be hard-to-find are now 'findable' and reachable with this phenomenon.

Statements, laws, information and other facts in dispute are shrunk into bytes. These are what we find when we search the World Wide Web.

Research is a crucial part of our existence. It makes us knowledgeable, witty and self-confident of our views. It elucidates our blurry notions and makes us conform to the truth.

Research is continuous. It does not stop to be part of us. In fact, as we grow older the more that we should be abreast of the things around us. We have to be diligent, active and systematic in our inquiries, discoveries and investigations.

On one hand, every site owner or designer must consider making their web design a research-friendly one. Something that is functional and accessible. But how do you do it?

The first thing to consider is CONDITIONING. Know your market including their needs. Concentrate on the information that they will need. Give them easy options. In addition, give it to them in a fast and uncomplicated manner.

When you are giving instructions, make sure that you do not sound like speaking gibberish. Never shower the visitors with too many technical words for it will certainly annoy them.

When the use of technical words cannot be avoided, be sure to DEFINE them. That way you will not leave them in the dark.

To help the viewers understand what your site is all about, give them the COMPLETE PICTURE. Salient details or an overview can further illuminate them. If you are marketing your products or services, tell them the benefits that you can offer them.

Lastly, ORGANIZE your web design. Make information easy to find. When your site makes use of ample contents, better have a good search tool.

It pays to have a research-friendly website. Aside from the fact that it will boost your rankings, it will also leave imprints in the minds of your visitors. Finding all they want in your website will keep them close. In addition, they can recommend your site to their friends and who knows what's going to happen next. You may wake up one morning and your site can be on the top ranking list. Or, your store or business may be so popular the sales are rocketing to your favor.
