Of course, this is the key focus when you have to choose your favourite operating system book. Many operating software company always launch patch and updates of their operating system and it's your job to make sure that the book is completely include the latest update version of the software that you are using. Apart from that, you may need to make sure that the book also cover all features of the software then you will get just only one book for all, do not have to buy additional books for other feature. However, there might be a question like "If so, should I wait for a complete update of final version of that operating software, so I do not have to worry about the update of a book. The answer seem to be NO, you should not wait for the latest version. As I mentioned earlier, the software never stop develop, which means there will be no books for ultimate version the software. Just buy the books that cover all features of that software which is currently available in the market.

2) Easy-to-understand content.
 
Writers have their own style of writing. You have to choose the writing styles that make you comfortable to read the most as well as you can understand it very easily. Using a lot of technical terms in the book may be not much practical for people who are only at the beginner level, so you have to choose the book that use writing style for all level of audiences too. Illustration also compulsory for a book about how to use operating system. Having as many illustrations as possible will enable readers to follows instruction step by step very effective. However, the more illustration the book has, the more paper it needs and this will make the book more expensive, especially the ones that use colour print.

So these are some key areas, which you have to consider when choosing an computer operating system book. However, this area of consider may be applied with all digital content such as e-books and on line stuff. But these days, tons of online VDO tutorials of the operating system are provided by the software company, so now you may not bother with how to choose the books and just go with the online one.
