adventure for that next outdoors excursion you may have planned. When 
 
you go camping you will need a camping lantern , camping stove and a 
 
camping cot as well as a flash light.

That sounds pretty good eh! Can you smell that fresh air go on fill your 
 
lungs with it and oh! what's that lovely smell, somebody's cooking up a 
 
treat it always smells better outdoors don't you think.

Lets see first you will need some type of shelter a plastic trap 8 by 10 will 
 
make a good tent some rope 50 ft will be lots the ? inch nylon rope 
 
will work. Tie the rope between two trees and place the tarp 
 
over the rope. Stake down each side of the tarp with screw 
 
driver numbers need 6 to 8 I buy them at flea markets and 
 
garage sales. To make the most of the camping experience, it¡¯s 
 
important to consider the weather before packing up the camper or 
 
travel trailer. Cycling is an excellent and convenient way to explore the 
 
national park or area where you are staying. Bringing along bicycles allows 
 
you to just get up and go wherever you are.

Campers will also bring a sleeping bag and various accessories like torches, 
 
portable stoves, knives, food, etc. Some prefer to make a camp fire but 
 
this must be done very carefully and is prohibited at some sites.

Where to go is the big decision. Some are lucky enough to live near 
 
national parks.These are national parks because they are very special 
 
areas. Don¡¯t have a tent, or even a backyard for that matter? That¡¯s no 
 
reason not to camp out. Just spread out your sleeping bags, or even just 
 
some blanket in the living room. Turn off the TV, radio and video games. 
 
If you have a fireplace, build a fire. Otherwise, order some pizza and pop 
 
some popcorn and you can even make s¡¯mores in the microwave.

Emergency Food to Bring in the Wilderness

Experienced campers know that it is always necessary to take some 
 
emergency food along on any trip. This will come in handy should the 
 
group get lost; and has already finished the existing supplies before 
 
rescuers are able to arrive and get the people out of harm¡¯s way. Why is 
 
bringing emergency food in the wilderness important even if the campers 
 
can hunt for it instead? This is because not everyone can successfully kill 
 
an animal especially if the only piece of equipment available is a survival 
 
knife.

But what is considered to be emergency food? Is it an extra slab of steak 
 
that is cooked before going on the trip? The answer is no.

These items are either a bar of chocolate or some canned goods since 
 
these will not spoil; unlike other items that will do so after being kept in a 
 
sealed container for more than a few days. Chocolate is important 
 
because its ingredients are able to keep a person warm in very cold 
 
conditions. It also provides a sudden jolt of energy because of the sugar 
 
concentration.

Once your kids (and you) recover from the shock of having no television 
 
or Internet access, you'll all have an eye-opening experience. Whether 
 
you have a tight budget or believe sky¡¯s the limit, you will find many 
 
camping supplies that range from as little as $20.00 all the way up to the 
 
hundreds.

It¡¯s important when traveling to bring along the proper clothing. Always 
 
include some rain and windwear, a fleece jacket is also a good idea. A first 
 
aid kit and plenty of drinking water should always be available. Of course if 
 
you are planning on doing any outdoor activities in the winter you will

The most common material that you can choose when you go camping 
 
consists of the technologies that will permit the water to pass through 
 
the material yet it doesn¡¯t allow the water to go into it. The National 
 
Recreation Reservation Service? (NRRS?) - From this one site, you 
 
can make reservations for the USDA Forest Service, Army Corps 
 
of Engineers, National Park Service, Bureau of Land 
 
Management and Bureau of Reclamation outdoor recreation 
 
facilities and activities. With over 45,000 sites at over 1,700 
 
locations, any camper will find a great place to relax and unwind.

The thought of camping alone can be very intimidating, 
 
especially if you¡¯re a woman. Ideally, it is not something recommended 
 
to women new to camping. Be sure the lantern you buy is weather 
 
proof. If you are camping in colder weather the gas type of lanterns 
 
would be your best choice because not only do they give of a bright light 
 
they also give off a fair amount of heat. Never use the gas lanterns in the 
 
tent.

Place at least two in the bottom of you ice box then place the frozen 
 
meats, milk, juice into the box. You should place vegetables on top if 
 
there is room place a third frozen milk jug at the top of the box. Cross 
 
country skiing is a wonderful way to experience the parks wilderness

There is no particular brand to take along the trip. It is best to take things 
 
that doesn¡¯t melt easily and then have them stored in a plastic container. 
 
This will prevent them from getting wet or eaten by ants.

Canned goods could be meat or fish products. Since these are quite small, 
 
the individual can pack a lot of these into the bag and just tale it out 
 
when the other supplies run out.

The nice thing about having food in aluminum cans is that they are easy 
 
cook over a fire. When everyone has eaten, this can be diisposed of so 
 
there won¡¯t be so much load weight in the backpacks. If there are many 
 
in the group, it is best to have everyone bring different kinds of canned 
 
products. Someone can bring tuna or any other type of fish while the 
 
other can bring ham or corned beef.

These should be easily opened with a key that is sometimes attached on 
 
the side of the can, a can opener or with a survival knife. Emergency food 
 
is just one of the many things that are required for any camper going into 
 
the wilderness. It doesn¡¯t matter if this is for just overnight or for the 
 
weekend because there is no telling what could happen or for how long 
 
the group will be in there in the event that the campers get lost or are 
 
stuck due to bad weather.

Don't expect to bring along your everyday dinnerware and automatic 
 
coffeepot for your campout. Remember, you will be roughing it, so pack 
 
accordingly. Bring plastic dishes and cutlery that can be washed and 
 
reused, but won't break in transit.

Apart from being submerged in wilderness, an important component of 
 
camping is the interaction with the localities, villagers and natives. These 
 
native guides know the unexplored places, the less traveled paths, the 
 
unknown facts, myths and stories about the locations.

One of the most convenient and popular camping activities is hiking trails. 
 
For some people a hike can consist of a simple walk around the park, while 
 
others prefer a much lengthier hike. Regardless of what sort of hike you 
 
will be taking, a little preparation will go a long way in ensuring a 
 
comfortable journey.

Looking Good--Last but certainly not least: If you've never set up your 
 
tent before, it's best to practice at home until you can do it in your sleep 
 
(bit of an exaggeration...but you know what I mean). This will save you 
 
any embarrassment later on in the 'Real World'. Check off items on the 
 
desktop while at home, which in turn will sync with the PDA. Take the 
 
PDA shopping to see what's needed or optionally print out the list from 
 
each Excel work sheet. It also has a scrollable body and fixed header.

With the hectic life many of us lead it would certainly be great to just 
 
"get away" from civilization and have fun in the wild outdoors. How many 
 
of us really know what to do when we get there or what to take with us 
 
in the "survival pack"? Camping can be a really refreshing lift to life, but 
 
roughing it may not come without some sort of price. Adequate 
 
preparation is a must and may prevent your trip into the wilds from 
 
becoming a disaster. As I rounded a bend blasted through granite, just 
 
wide enough to accommodate a horse-drawn wagon, I braked suddenly 
 
and gasped.

Camping in a van can be cold at times, as it was for us in the deserts of 
 
Arizona last winter. We started the van and cranked up the heater once 
 
in a while, but only for brief periods. Instead of going up to other campers 
 
and saying, ¡°Hi, I¡¯m Kerry and I¡¯m here by myself¡± ask questions like ¡°How 
 
can I contact you if I experience a problem¡± or ¡°is this campground 
 
regularly patrolled?¡±Don¡¯t advertise you are by yourself by finding 
 
campsites away from walking trails
