Generic Meridia is commonly known and used as an appetite suppressant. When used along with your diet plan, it helps reduce weight at faster pace. Sibutramine is the generic or chemical name of meridia. Sibutramine is also known as sibutramide hydrochloride monohydrate is a oral medication used in the treatment for obesity. Sibutramine is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States.
 
Generic Meridia or Sibutramine is recommended for people who are overweight and also suffering from other health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes etc. To loose weight it is necessary to consume generic meridia with a low calorie diet. What does generic meridia do? It increases the level of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in the nervous system. The increase in serotonin triggers serotonergic action in the nervous system which is believed to influence appetite.
 
Generic Meridia is widely promoted as a weight loss pill across the globe. It comes in different strengths (5mg, 10mg and 15mg) to suit the user's requirement. When consumed as per the instructions mentioned on the label, you can loose anywhere between 3lbs to 25 lbs in a year. But the fact remains that you need to carry a healthy lifestyle while taking meridia to get the desired results.
 
Generic Meridia is initially prescribed for 4 weeks, during this time the patient is regularly checked for any signs of weight loss or side effects. Also, his blood pressure and heart rate is monitored regularly. A 10mg dose is to be consumed daily (preferably in the morning), if this is not good enough then your doctor may increase your dose to 15mg (daily) after 4 weeks. Sometime if the drug is not suiting the individual then blood pressure and heart rate can increase. A weight loss of about 4lb is estimated during the course of this medication. If the desired result in terms of weight loss is not achieved, either stop this medication or increase the dosage as per your doctor's advice.
 
Generic Meridia is not for someone who just wants to shed few pounds. We must understand that it is a serious medication and is recommended for people who are really overweight. In today's age of fashion, people use weight loss drugs as cosmetics than using it for the real cause i.e. health. We should not misinterpret the primary use of Generic Meridia which is to improve your health and not to make you look like a slim.
