The reason behind accumulation of fat may be multifarious. It may be due to heredity, lack of physical activities, excess food intake or may be due to some medication to get over some ailments one encountered in the past. Amongst these factors, excess food intake is one such factor in developing obesity that all other factors seem minuscule in nature.

So, it would be a positive step to reduce the intake of food to get rid of obesity. But how to reduce the intake of food when the urge for it never ends? There are many ways to get rid of that urge. Taking Rimonabant is one such way which can make an individual forgo that urge.

<a href="http://www.weight-loss-drug.co.uk/rimonabant_acomplia.html">Rimonabant</a> is an appetite suppressant. It works by effecting endocannabinoid system which regulates appetite and energy needs. This drug blocks certain receptors found in the endocannabinoid system which makes an individual's body system to suppress appetite and urge to have food.

Right now, Rimonabant is being marketed as <a href="http://www.weight-loss-drug.co.uk/acomplia_diet_pill.html">Acomplia</a> in the UK and EU by Sanofi-Aventis and is waiting for approval from the FDA (Food and Drug Agency) for sale in the US. It is believed that if Rimonabant gets permission for sale the US it would be named as Zimulti.

The usual dose for taking Rimonabant is a pill a day with a glass of water. Side effects like dizziness, depression, restlessness, nausea and irritability may occur for the first few days of starting its intake but ceases once the body accommodates it in the system. But it should be noted that this drug should be taken with consultation with a doctor.

A patient must tell his or her entire medical history to the doctor before opting for the drug. Persons with heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, allergy, blood pressure should take utmost care in its medication. Pregnant and breast feeding women should also tell their doctors of their condition as the drug may show its side effects on the child. In case side effects do not seem to end or side effects other than documented show up then one should stop consuming Rimonabant and consult a doctor.

As with other weight loss diet pills Rimonabant too is for short term use. But one should note that without regular exercises and a strict diet regimen use of this pill to reduce obesity would not yield considerable result. So, go ahead with Rimonabant if you have the willpower to do exercises and follow a restricted diet program.
