Flags are a symbol of national pride and respect the world over. They not only uniquely identify each nation, but also symbolically represent the culture, history, and fundamental values cherished by the people of those nations.

Given their symbolic importance, there are specific rules, norms, and etiquette codes associated with handling and deploying flags at public and private places. Care must be taken to make sure that no signs of disrespect are shown while storing, handling, and hosting, and that ceremonies and processions are conducted as per the norms on such occasions.
