Acne: revealed!

By Luna Sol

"Acne!? Try this mixture! It works just fine!". "No! That one doesn't work at all. I have tried it myself. If you have acne you should try this one over here. It is just perfect!". If you have acne you probably heard these at least once. And advices such those ones are both true and both false.

It is true because it is a reality that the treatment advised by someone may really work and even cure acne. But it is also false because if a treatment works for me will not necessarily work for you. Treatments are personal, very specific.

This specificity has to do with the fact that the skin, the type of acne and how it affects someone is unique. There are basic three levels that classify the types of acne: mild, moderate and severe. If two people are considered to have severe acne, the way acne displays in each one may be totally different from each other.

Acne treatments are so different because of these factors. That's why there are so many options involving so many different – and even opposite – approaches to treat the most common skin disorder.

When it comes to acne treatment, it doesn't matter that your friend has the same level of acne, it doesn't matter if he/she started having acne at the same time you did: what really matters in this case is what caused acne.

Doctors know that there are many factors considered to be possible causes for acne, but it's also true that almost none of them is isolated. For example, if someone have acne due to the excess of oil production, it's possible that this excess is due to some hormonal disorder.

Another battle regarded to acne treatment has to do with how to find the best treatment. And the answer is only one: the best treatment is the one that works for you. I know it may seem aggressive or hopeless, but finding the best treatment for you is easier that trying all the options that friends, relatives or non-reliable websites have to offer. If someone with acne looks for a doctor and let him/her choose the best treatment for that case, the chances of getting rid of acne are enormous. Much bigger than trying to treat it by your own.

I know that because I've done this myself. My acne has not gone for good yet, but however it is under control. And this is another thing of acne treatment. If you are waiting to get rid of acne overnight, forget it! It is not the way it works. Getting rid of acne takes time and this time depends on how your organism will react to the treatment. People with the same level of severity and under the same medications may take different time to cure their acne.

In addition to that, it's not helpful to get anxious or nervous because of acne. This skin condition is related to stress. This way, the more anxious you get, more stressed you are and more difficult it is to get acne under control. Patience is a part of the treatment and almost a medication itself.

But just like any other treatment, treating acne requires some discipline. It's important to follow all the instructions given by the doctor and pay attention to anything that may look weird. Everything has to be taken into account and a little odd thing must be told to the doctor.

It's possible to get rid of acne. Do you want to know how?
