"What is the top home based business?"- Is a question often asked when starting out.
Well no matter what kind of home based businesses are "in" at any time there are certain questions that you should ask:
1) Does the product or service have a potential market that will bring about a long-term income that can eventually support you as a Home Business?
Well to determine this you will need to do some market research. Compare the product to similar products, see if these are selling well or popular. If something is already selling and has been for some time it's probably a good market. You may like to test the market part time and see the response.
2) Have I the knowledge to run my own Home Business?
Previous experience, training and education are things that an entrepreneur will bring to their new business. You may have to take some lesson's, join with someone with experience, or perhaps look at other area's.
3) Are my finances sufficient to start this business?
You'll have to plan to ensure that you can survive until the profits start rolling in. Perhaps keep your present job or move down to part time. There are many people who started out this way.
4) How will I ensure my Home Based Business stands out?
Having a one of a kind business these days is almost impossible, so you will have to look for a business that offers more than most of the competitors in your chosen market place. And has appeal that makes sales for you.
5) Can I set the prices for the service or product to make profit?
Will people in this area pay the price and will it still be profitable if you have to lower your price. You would be better to add value to your product or service and offer a better quality product at a higher price.
6) Do I have access to information concerning my target customers, my chosen industry, and the latest info on my business trends in order to stay competitive?
If you are not an experienced marketer this can be very difficult. Just finding these sources alone could take months and even longer to be sure you are getting good, reliable, and up to date info that will make a difference to your business and your profit. If you can find a affiliate program that offers good training, resources and updated info regularly, from a market leader you will find your path much easier.
