Nokia N73: the imaging wizard.

By Ben Bradle

It was not long ago when mobile phones were solely used to make and receive calls 'outdoors'. At the rate mobile phones are evolving, they will become the only thing that we'll use in the not too distant future. The Nokia N73 marks the unification of the digital camera with a 3G phone.

Nokia have always maintained that N-Series handsets are not mobile phones but multimedia computers. Living up to the family name, the Nokia N73 can produce amazing pictures that can give your digital camera a run for their money. Sporting a world famous Carl Zeiss optics powered 3.2 megapixel camera, the Nokia N73 can produce 'real' photos.

Mobile imaging on the Nokia N73 is not just fun but very professional. Digital zoom, auto-focus, flash goes a long way to produce awe inspiring photographs. High resolution video recording in CIF format lets you capture any moment you want to capture.

The Nokia N73 have a secondary VGA camera for video calling. The handset's UMTS network support other than all four GSM mobile network makes it possible to see each other on a call. Images produced on the large TFT display with more than 256k colours are accurate. It is even fitted with a light sensor to give you vivid images in all light conditions.

You can achieve data speed of up to a massive 384 kbps through the 3G technology. In case your network doesn't support 3G, you'd unfortunately have to settle for a 'slower' speed of up to 236.8 kbps through EDGE and GPRS. Surf the WAP, HTML and xHTML web-pages by the built in browser and download all you want to the 40 Mb internal memory expandable up to 2GB through external memory card. Remote and local connectivity for information sharing and synchronization through USB2.0, Infrared or Bluetooth 2.0 is easy and fast.

With its fully evolved camera module, the Nokia N73 should become popular with all imaging enthusiast.
