Extracted From Nature - Absolutes

Absolutes are almost like essential oils; the only difference between them is that absolutes carry more complex method of extraction. Essential oil is generally extracted by means of steam distillation in which there is a need of intense heat. And, extracting oil from delicate flower is really very difficult because intense heat can destroy the natural fragrance and aroma of the flower. So, a unique process of extracting oil has been developed to detain the aroma and fragrance of delicate natural part of herbs or flower (from which oil is to be extracted). This process doesn't involve heat or water etc. And, when oil is extracted by using this unique process then it is termed as absolute rather than essential oil.
Absolutes are stronger than essential oils. Thus, there is no need to take it in large quantity. Absolutes are highly concentrated. So, sometimes people can be allergic to them. Absolutes play an important role in fragrance and perfume industry.
Absolutes are one of the main ingredients used in aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is an art of healing and curing various body problems by using essential oils, absolutes and other natural products. These natural products boost the energy level and fight with various diseases.
As it is already known that absolutes are extracted through a complex process in which various types of chemical solvent are used, though they are removed in the final stage of extraction. But sometimes, a small amount of chemical solvent can be traced in the final product. Indeed, this is only the disadvantage of using absolutes in aromatherapy; as aromatherapy only makes use of natural products. So, when absolutes are used in aromatherapy, they need an extreme care.
Some of the popular absolutes are as follows:
• Jasmine.
Jasmine carry beautiful and delicate aroma. It is used in perfumery products and in various therapies. It helps in curing various women problem such as irregular menstrual cycles, headaches etc. It is antidepressant and antiseptic in nature. It is extracted by using solvents.
• Lotus
It is extracted from various white or pink lotuses through solvents. It boosts up confidence and self respect. It is usually used for healing various problems.
• Rose
Rose absolute is extracted from rose flower, which make use of solvents. It has a very intense and strong aroma. It removes tiredness and gives a sensual feeling. It is also used in various cosmetic products such as soaps, lotions, and creams etc. Rose absolute is anti-viral and anti-bacterial in nature.
