Samsung D830: Stylish, creative and fascinating.
By Ben Bradle
The world's slimmest folder mobile phone, Samsung D830 is a part of Samsung's prolific 'Ultra-edition' family. Unlike X820 where the measurement was done shrewdly with the thinnest part of the case, this time Samsung has done it the way things should be measured and the case thickness comes around 9.9mm. The handset looks good, fits well into the hand and can slip into any pocket-size. The handset also promises to be feature rich and is targeted towards consumers who want a stylish phone which can accompany them everywhere-in office as well as in parties.
The handset features a 2-megapixel camera which very ordinary compared to high resolution camera phones available these days but in such a slim case that's the best possible configuration and the manufacturer deserves kudos for it. The display is great with envious specifications and with back light on the readability gets better and better.
Samsung D830 has an integrated MP3 player which supports a variety of features to help you listen to your favourite songs while you are on the go. The tracks can be downloaded with Bluetooth as well as with synchronization application. The music can be played either on speakers or with a stereo headset. You can also conveniently record up to hours in voice memos.
The mobile phone has some office utility functions like document viewer, file explorer, voice mail, voice memo and Bluetooth printing to help you manage your time effectively. You can also surf the web and send and receive e-mails on your mobile. The off line mode allows you to work in flights when your mobile phone is switched off.
The memory can be expanded to add more storage space and the battery life is good enough for normal usage. All in all a handset which is stylish as well as feature packed to offer more than conversation. About the Author Ben Bradley is webmaster of
