Sony Ericsson P990i: A smartphone for the smarter you

Embodying the future of 3G smartphones, the Sony Ericsson P990i is a formidable device with high-end hardware and software specifications. Following the success of the P900 and P910 models, the Sony Ericsson P990i is the latest P-series Symbian smartphone from Sony Ericsson and is definitely a much improved offering.

The Sony Ericsson P990i is designed to increase productivity and optimize work on the move and targets globe-trotting professionals as its end users. The idea is to facilitate the functionalities of a PC on a compact portable device that will give you access to a world of information and entertainment and manage communication effectively.

To begin with, the Sony Ericsson P990i is a 3G UMTS and a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) and GPRS device. The software package includes the advanced Symbian v9.1 operating system plus the UIQ 3.0 user interface. And with Opera 8 web browser, email client and a suite of PIM applications, the Sony Ericsson P990i is surely one of the smartest handset in the current mobile industry.

The Sony Ericsson P990i lets you read and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents and comes with an additional viewer for PowerPoint and PDF files. You can also synchronise with applications like Microsoft Outlook. You can literally carry your office around and perform your work efficiently.

The Sony Ericsson P990i comes with a 2 MP camera with auto focus, digital zoom, photo light and video recording capability making it one of the best imaging device in the smartphone category. An integrated music player and a built-in FM RDS radio ensures entertainment around the clock. The multimedia potential of the phone is also very impressive.

The handset sports the signature design of the P900 series, the flip-down keypad and can be used both in the open and shut positions. With features like handwriting recognition and touchscreen, the options for text input are multiple and the jog dial navigation makes for easy and convenient usage.
