Why go bird watching during fall?

By Jia Mith

If you want your kids to be a part of the process it is very easy to make
your birdhouse very simple. It is quite possible to use four or five pieces of
wood and construct one with very little in the way of tools.

Just like recognizing certain characteristics and habits of people you can
do the same with birds, which ultimately makes identifying them much
easier. These characteristics are shape, size, color, flight pattern and
where they're seen, to name just a few.

You're now armed with the education you really should have to make an
educated buying decision!

Let me explain why; when a cage is fairly easy to clean, it not only cuts
down on the amount of time you spend cleaning, it also extends the life
of your cage. If your cage is an extreme pain to clean and it takes many
hours you will put off cleaning it for longer amounts of time and this will
drastically reduce the life of your cage (especially a powder-coated bird
cage). Get to Where the Birds Are! This sounds obvious, but many birders
spend the majority of their bird watching time and energy on poor
locations.

Why go bird watching during fall

Bird watching is a hobby that can be done by almost anyone who has the
gift of sight. Even those who can see less or not at all get fulfillment from
listening to the chirping of the birds. However, nothing is more exciting
than seeing different bird species a few steps or meters form where you
are located.

This is one hobby that everyone can indulge in because it does not
require much money. However, a person who plans to go bird watching
should invest in a good bird watching field guide so he will know the
different species of birds and can get an idea of how to identify them.
Bird watching can be done anywhere there are trees and a good and
unpolluted environment. It can be done right from the comforts of one¡¯s
own home or right in the community park. Birds are everywhere and it
only takes a short time to fill a person with joy watching and hearing
these birds chirp their hearts away.

While bird watching can be a year round activity, there are seasons that
are ideal for bird watching. Bird watchers agree that for those in
temperate countries, the best time to go bird watching is when they
migrate during fall and spring. Bird watching during fall can be a terrific
experience because of the number of bird species that are available for
viewing.

Basically, that's all you have to do in making hummingbird feeders. It
depends on you how many hummingbird feeders you want to make, but
if you want to enjoy watching more than just one hummingbird, you can
make a number of these feeders and tie them into a mobile and place
them in your backyard.

Feel a little unsure? Take some time to learn about the different kinds of
birds that might be suitable pets for you and your family. Though
authentic antique cages are pleasing to the eye, they are not the best
home for your bird. Many antique bird cages are treated with chemicals or
paints that can be toxic to your bird.

The top two ways to give your bird stimulation on a daily basis are: toy
hooks & playtops. There's no need to explain why toy hooks are
stimulating, they just are!

Practice Before You Go. A key to viewing wildlife, and especially birds, is
to have the ability to very quickly put your binoculars on target.

Birds usually migrate in flocks and it can be a thrill seeing hundreds of birds
flying from north to south or even from varying directions. A seasoned
bird watcher will know the times of the year when the birds migrate and
he knows it is the best time to bring out those binoculars and have a
look-see. How do bird watchers strive to entice birds to their yards? Find
out at http://www.bird-watch.info Birds are very active at the beginning
of the day because this is the time when they look out for food. The
clich¨¦ about the early birds getting the worm may also be true
for bird watchers who go out early in the morning because they
will be sure to see the most enchanting bird species during
these hours.

Early mornings are ideal for bird watching because this time of
the day has a semblance of serenity not available at other times
of the day. To get the most of a person¡¯s bird watching hobby, he
must do some research on the different kinds of birds that he can
probably see during one of his bird watching trips.

When watching birds, never forget to read and even bring a field guide,
good binoculars and some food to keep the stomach from growling.

Is the bird cage you are considering made of materials that are safe for
your feathered friend? Get a good pair of bird watching binoculars if you
are serious about bird watching. If you're looking at a quality cage it will
be constructed of steel (powder-coated ones should have steel
underneath the powder-coat and stainless steel cages need to be 100%
stainless steel, not plated or hollow) or iron.

Buying a pet bird can be quite an investment. After spending money on
your bird and its supplies, you might be looking to save a little on the
cage. Luckily, discount bird cages are available.

We may have the best intentions to let our bird spend most of his time
out of the cage. But there will still be times when he needs to be in his
cage. If you decide to choose a bird as your first or next family pet, take
the time to educate your entire family on the bird. After you have taken
the time to learn, teach your family important facts about the bird and
about the needs the bird will have when it becomes a part of your family.
