Migraines

Cluster Headaches

Males, aged 20 to 50, based upon their genetic makeup may are more prone to cluster headaches. The headache is characterized by short bursts of extreme pain in any part of the head, and is often described as "lightening" or "thunder" because of the intensity and sudden onset. These headaches may last from few minutes to several hours. The pain is debilitating and the person often feels as though he is having a nail drilled into their head. Cluster headaches resides faster a certain point of time however faster relief can be attained through treatment such as muscular manipulation or ibuprofen which stops swelling of blood vessels. The type of headache varies and also the effectiveness of a treatment varies between people. If the intensity of the ache is high, a doctor should be consulted.
