SAP Business One in Illinois: implementation, upgrade, customization, integration

Chicago metropolitan area and downstate Illinois might be characterized as mid-west distribution place. This means that we see large number of diversified mid-size businesses, engaged in light assembly, shipping and receiving and distribution to their wholesale and retail customers across the USA and Canada. SAP B1 is a very good fit to these clientele ERP requirements. It has pretty competitive implementation period (in the sense of being rapid). In this small article we'll give SAP BO functional and technical highlights:
• Multilanguage support. We especially recommend this product in the case if you are subsidiary of European company in Chicago – you European supervisors may switch SAP BO interface to German, French, Italian, Spanish, etc
• Production. As mentioned light manufacturing and assembly is often need of Chicagoland businesses. Manufacturing is often considered to be very heavy module with very rich functionality, which means a lot of investment in implementation, reporting, employee training – this is not the case with SAP Business One, where production module could be implemented reasonably fast
• Microsoft SQL Server. This database platform resolves the problem of growth, you do not need to switch to another DB platform, even if your company growth 1000% per year. Plus MS SQL Server allows you to do db level data export, SQL Reporting Services open the door to unlimited reporting
• Integration. If you are on MySAP in your corporate Headquarters, SAP B1 has integration module to consolidate your subsidiary to MySAP. However even if you are on another MRP platform, you still have multiple integration options: from SAP BO reports, which could be exported to MS Excel to MS SQL Server stored procedures, which pull GL transactions and mark them as exported
Advanced Reporting options. Crystal Reports are also a tool of choice for SAP B1, you can create SQL views and stored procedures to be the base for SAP Business One Reports
SAP Business One Customization. We recommend you to research the option of SAP B1 SDK Visual Studio programming in C# or VB.Net
