The real estate industry getting better

As the competition in the market is intense, builders are going out of their way to be different. According to a Merrill Lynch report, the number of malls in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune is expected to grow to 250 by 2010 as against the current 40. Specialized malls have become the order of the day. Gurgaon can boost of a wedding mall, a gold souk and very soon will have an auto mall. Meanwhile, Bangalore is about to get an exclusive furniture mall. Gurgaon is also set to host the biggest mall of the world known as the Mall of India.

Similarly in the housing segment, most builders are offering interesting feature to woo customers. Modular kitchens, piped gas, internet connections, AC's, CCTV's, earthquake proofing and some are even offering fully furnished houses.

All big and small real estate companies are making an effort to give consumers what they need and are building as per the demands not only for the investors but also for the visitors.

A lot of data on real estate can be made available from the internet. One can search real estate listings and look and opt for various options. It is no longer restricted to classified ads in the newspaper where one had to list out real estate agents and run around to find out what is available and where. Though the market is still not very organized, but the process has started.
