Christmas is just a click away

VisitNorwich, the official tourism agency for the Norwich area, has launched an essential online guide to Christmas designed for visitors and locals alike.

The dedicated pages at VisitNorwich.co.uk (link can be found below) are new to the website this year and are brimming with ideas to make it a Christmas to remember in the Norwich area.

Sections on shopping, food and drink, religious services, events and family fun ensure there's something for everyone. So whether you're searching for that perfect gift, looking for a fantastic festive night out, or hoping to find out about the numerous events taking place across the region, inspiration is just a click away.

Melanie Cook, Sales and Marketing Executive for VisitNorwich, said: "Norwich and the surrounding area has so much to offer at Christmas and we hope that our special online pages will cater for everyone's Christmas needs and help them make the most of the holiday season."

Notes to Readers
1. VisitNorwich promotes the city destination area of Norwich, Broadland and South Norfolk to the rest of the UK and to the world, aiming to increase its competitiveness and attract new investment, more visitors and increased spend.
2. As well as marketing, VisitNorwich operates the Norwich and Norfolk Conference Bureau, it manages the Norwich Tourist Information Centre and runs the Norwich City Centre Management Partnership. As a membership organisation it provides advice, research and support for local businesses in the visitor economy.
3. Operational from 1st April 2005, VisitNorwich is a private/public sector partnership and not-for-profit company.
4. Norwich and its surrounding area currently attracts around 15.2 million day visitors and 1.4m staying visitors each year
5. Tourism is worth around £800 million per year to the Norwich area and supports over 8,000 jobs (FTE)
6. Norwich has recently been placed in the top 5 of UK places to shop (Venuescore Survey by Javelin), having also been ranked 9th in the Experian Goad retail index and 8th on the CACI index. The outstanding quality and diversity of the city's retail offer presents a major draw for visitors to the Norwich area.
