Christmas Gifts: Making Your List and Checking It Twice

By Noel Jameson

Hey you! Yes -- you! Have you started your Christmas list yet? No? What are you waiting for! You've only got a few weeks until Christmas is here.

Well, okay, maybe it's more like four weeks, but that's not a lot of time considering the fact that you have to buy gifts for everybody from Amanda to Zelda and everyone in between. If you want to make sure no one is accidentally left off your Christmas list this year, you'd better start your planning now.

Why Do You Need a Christmas List?

Before you even think about buying Christmas gifts this year, you absolutely have to make a Christmas list. Why? Well think about this...

You're at the family Christmas party and you're sitting there with your eggnog and cookies and suddenly good old Aunt Sue walks in. Suddenly the blood rushes from your face and you get a sinking feeling in your stomach.

You forgot about Aunt Sue! How could you forget about Aunt Sue?

What are you going to do? The stores are closed and you have nothing to give her! What's she going to think? What's everyone else going to think? YOU are the GRINCH!

Tsk, tsk, tsk... Had you started planning your Christmas list a few weeks before Christmas, you wouldn't have forgotten dear Aunt Sue.

Back to the Present

Snap back into reality. It's not too late!

Christmas isn't yet here and you do have time to start making your Christmas list.

As you can see, creating a Christmas list before you begin shopping is helpful for a number of different reasons.

First of all, as we've discussed, a Christmas shopping list will help you keep track of who you've shopped for and who still needs Christmas gifts.

Second of all, it helps you keep track of your budget. If you have $800 to spend on Christmas gifts and there are 20 people on your list, you know you're in trouble if you've got $200 left and there's only five people crossed off your list.

And by the way, as you look over your Christmas list, you many want to check out SuperChristmasGifts.com. Although this website doesn't sell anything, you'll find great Christmas gift ideas and advice for buying gifts for everyone on your list -- from accountants to wrestling fans... from coworkers to mother-in-laws... from teachers to rednecks. http://www.superchristmasgifts.com

Hop To It!

So what are you waiting for? Take out a piece of paper and begin writing down every person you need to buy Christmas gifts for.

As the weeks between now and Christmas go by and you remember names you forgot, add the people to the list as you think of them.

When you believe your Christmas list is complete, make sure you ask your spouse or children to look over the list to see if you forgot anyone. This will ensure that you don't forget to purchase Christmas gifts for anyone this Holiday Season.
