Information On Auto Parts Consolidated

By Terry Brown

Created with the goal of helping and giving customers the right kind of information regarding Oldsmobile restoration parts, Plymouth parts, Warn Winches, and other type of auto parts, ShowMeTheParts came into being. ShowMeTheParts is actually a consolidated and strengthened catalog straight right out of the various vendor catalogs. This was accomplished by Vertical Development, Inc. however this project is the brainchild and has been spearheaded by Brakes Plus.

According to Brakes Plus, the project would not be quite completed if not for the other forty three local repair facilities in its area coordinated and cooperated with them. And when all the pieces of information was completed, ShowMeTheParts now shows information on pricing as well as information on all the products and auto parts. This has also started to look as a great help to Brakes Plus for they are currently in the process of making sure that they are able to supply various shops as well as the different retail customers with the right auto parts and the right amount of updated information on these. There are over 50,000 part numbers included in ShowMeTheParts.

Says R. J. Pisciotta, the current vice president of Brakes Plus' operations, "Our stores now have a single source for pricing, enabling them to pull up an estimate on the spot. Our goal was to disseminate product and pricing information quickly. We already accomplished that when we changed rotor pricing and got the new data to every location in a day." He does add though that with ShowMeTheParts, the company has been able to overcome various challenges that they have been encountering even before such a thing was created. Now, they are able to provide the right amount of parts and services as well as discounts and other offers to their customers and clients. They also did find having ShowMeTheParts quite helpful for any updates on parts and services are easily updated for all the data that they need is already centralized in ShowMeTheParts.

Marvin Parris, the director from Brakes Plus' IT department, does even express, "Whenever we have questions or goals, they are part of the team to help you get the job done right. VDI has been excellent to work with. They have addressed all of my concerns, and even offered enhancements above and beyond my requests to make it a better product. That's hard to beat."
