American Express's Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is the perfect card for those who fly on Delta Airlines. There are many perks for those who use this card responsibly.
The annual fee of the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is waived for the first twelve months. After that time, the annual fee is $85 per year. If you already have one AMEX card, however, the annual fee is adjusted to $30.
There is a 0% interest offer on all balance transfers submitted when you apply for the card. The variable APR of 17.99% for purchases is a bit high for such a card. The variable APR on cash advances jumps slightly to 22.99%. The finance charges are applied to any purchases that are not paid for within the first 25 days, and there are charges for other services like cash advances and balance transfers. The maximum credit limit on the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is $100,000. Late payment and over the limit fees are assessed each time they occur.
The bonus program associated with this card offers two travel miles when you make purchases at participating retailers and one travel mile for everyday purchases. You start out with 15,000 bonus miles when you make your first purchase on the card, and are awarded 2,500 additional miles for any approved additional cards on the account.
Miles you earn on the bonus program do not expire, so long as travel on Delta Airlines is completed once every three years. After $100,000 is spent on the card, bonus miles drop to one mile even when you make purchases at participating retailers and merchants.
Other perks of the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card by American Express are auto rental insurance, travel accident insurance, year-end financial statements and other purchase protection services.
The Delta SkyMiles Credit Card is a good choice of cards when you travel frequently and use Delta Airlines.
